Where can I get help accessing and learning to use technology?

In addition to Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's services, programs, and resources for basic technology learning, a number of organizations in Pittsburgh offer excellent services to help people access and learn to use technology.

AgeWell at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh

AgeWell at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, located in Squirrel Hill,  provides services to adults ages 60 and older, to help them remain independent and in their own homes for as long as possible. Services include Information and referral, and we offer health, wellness, educational and social programming. In terms of digital inclusion efforts, we offer one-on-one tech tutoring, and small, in-person computer basics classes. We also offer virtual programming on the virtualsenioracademy.org. Computer Reach

Computer Reach is a non-profit organization based in Wilkinsburg that makes technology available to people in need through refurbished equipment, computer literacy, training, and support. If you need a computer, internet access, or assistance in learning how to use a computer, Computer Reach has programs that can help. Literacy Pittsburgh

Literacy Pittsburgh offers free, in-person computer classes in Allegheny and Beaver counties. Get an introduction to computers, learn essential software, and become familiar with using technology in daily life. Courses include basic computer skills, navigating the internet, using email, Windows 10, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Google Docs, LinkedIn, and job search skills. Many courses offer an opportunity to earn a Northstar Digital Literacy certificate that you can add to your resume and LinkedIn profile. Meta Mesh Wireless Communities

Meta Mesh Wireless Communities is a nonprofit Internet Service Provider based in Pittsburgh, PA. Our mission is to bridge the digital divide in southwestern Pennsylvania. Since our founding in 2015, we have worked with regional foundations, community partners, and school districts to identify households in need of high speed, affordable broadband Internet. We connect households in our Internet service areas at no-cost to the users! We work with our sponsoring partners to cover the cost of equipment and bandwidth. As a non-profit, we value equitable access, user privacy, and community owned resources.
