How do I get a book I wrote added to the library's collection?

Answer

Because of the large volume of titles published each year, we rely for the most part on reviews from national professional journals such as School Library Journal, Booklist, Publisher’s Weekly, The New York Times Book Review, etc., when making selections for our collection.

We have a process for considering self-published materials and titles from small publishers. Providing us with information about the book, as you have done, is sufficient to set this process in motion. In the event that we decide to add your title to our collection we will use the information provided to purchase a copy or copies. You can find more information and documentation on our website here: Collection Development and Management - Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh
